The Latvian Adult Education Association together with partners from Lithuania, Estonia and Italy is implementing the project “Municipal Support Adult Education” (MSAE) (2021-2022). It is an Erasmus + Strategic Partnership project with the aim to mobilize local authorities to invest in adult education, to increase the role of local governments in supporting adult education and to promote greater adult participation in education.

We plan to achieve this with:

• learning, discussing and exchanging examples of good practice;
• increasing the knowledge and skills of adult educators to lobby adult education in local governments;
• promoting the activities of local authorities, entrepreneurs and workers in adult education field;
• developing innovative approaches, creating new networks, improving working methods.

In the project, we have developed a handbook, where it is possible to get acquainted with the analysis of the current situation of adult education and with examples of good practices of municipal support to adult education. There has been conducted a study on the necessary IT skills for residents in municipalities of project partner Countries.
